Steve Le Grys an award winning photographer, based in Suffolk. I started my working life as an apprentice camera operator for a London book printers 43 years ago. The majority of my career has been spent in the print and graphic industries. In 2015 I returned to education to study for a degree in photography.
Awarded Bachelor of Arts in Photography from the University of East London.
Awarded Associate of The Royal Photographic Society (ARPS).
Awarded RHS Silver Gilt Medal 2019.

It was during my time as a university undergraduate, that a chance visit to see the Julia Margaret Cameron exhibition at the Science Museum created a profound influence on my studies and photographic perception. Subsequently my goal has been to become competent in the Wet Collodion process made famous by Julia Margaret Cameron and Roger Fenton. My belief that the current need for speed and a desire for ever greater resolution is having an adverse effect on the artistic abilities of the photographer. Subject and style have been sacrificed in favour of process. Wet Collodion Photography although very slow and at times difficult, has now become my desired artistic format.
